I hope you found the solution you were looking for. It worked for me when installing Snow Leopard (I installed the same patch when installing Lion) and since installation of Mac OS X 10.5.7 (Upgraded to 10.5.8 via Software Update) the only issue I've had has been the inability to get video to work (every video card I've been able to try). I have not been able to figure out the reason for this, other than the fact that it hasn't done this on any of my previous OS installations of Mac OS X.
Click the down arrow. Select System. Choose the Intel SpeedStep Driver tab and uncheck Enable SpeedStep Control. Click ok. Click next and wait for all the files to finish copying. Sometimes it takes longer than it should. If you receive an error message saying "Windows Installer encountered an error during setup. A problem caused the installation to fail. Click Ok to close the dialog box and continue the installation."
Before installing drivers from driverguide make a back-up copy of your file. It can be a bit tricky to figure out which files to back-up. open rl5c592_Updater_en_US.exe.
